ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on post-stroke aphasia (PSA). MethodsLiteratures about tDCS for PSA were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane library, Embase CNKI and Wanfang Data, until December, 2021. The contents of the author, publication time, subjects, intervention methods and time, main outcome indicators and conclusions were extracted. ResultsA total of 1 026 articles were returned and 45 articles were finally included. The publication time was from 2010 to 2021. The subjects of the study were patients with PSA. The main outcome indicators were the various speech scales and their sub-items. For most of the trials, scores of the scales were better in the experimental groups than in the control groups after treatment, and a few found little improvement in Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Examination, or only improved in complex language tasks. tDCS can improve the repetition, naming, spelling and verbal fluency of PSA patients, which might relate with electrode placement, current magnitude, duration, intensity and left cortical integrity. ConclusiontDCS is effective on different language sub-items of PSA, and various with the program of tDCS.

ABSTRACT

Vascular cognitive impairment is a common type of cognitive impairment. At present, there is no targeted treatment, especially for moderate to severe dementia. This review focuses on the early functional evaluation and rehabilitation treatment in patients with vascular cognitive impairment, in order to obtain optimal curative effects and improve the quality of daily living. Neuropsychological test is helpful for early screening of vascular cognitive impairment. Neuropsychological test, together with the results of neuroelectrophysiology and imaging examination as objective evidence, can further predict the disease progress and can be used to guide rehabilitation treatment and curative effect evaluation. Cognitive training, exercise training, non-invasive nerve regulation technology, acupuncture and moxibustion are currently effective rehabilitation treatments. Combined application of various methods has a better improvement effect than monotherapy. Among them, non-invasive nerve regulation technology shows a good application prospect. At present, more high-quality clinical research evidence is needed.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To observe the clinical effects and safety of orthokeratology(OK) lens in the treatment of mild and moderate myopia, and to evaluate the effects on the myopia control.@*Methods@#The study included a total of 166 eyes in 83 myopia children who were treated in Jiaxing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from January 2014 to December 2014.They were randomly divided into two groups according to the digital table, 43 cases(86 eyes) in the observation group underwent standard OK lens, and the other 40 cases(80 eyes) in the control group were given common spectacles. The patients were followed up for two years. The uncorrected visual acuity, corneal curvature and ocular surface in the, observation group were examined, and diopter, axial length were examined in the two groups.@*Results@#The visual acuity of the observation group improved significantly at 1 day, trended to be stable at 1 week, and then was basically stable within 1 year, but decreased at 2 years. After 3 months, the mean corneal curvature[(41.93±1.12)D]was significantly lower than before orthokeratology[(43.56±1.44)D], and the difference was statistically significant(t=11.539, P<0.05). However, the effect didn’t persist without continued OK lens wear 1 month later.Compared with the control group, the growth of the diopter and axial length in the observation group were significantly slower(t=16.784, P<0.05; t=5.623, P<0.05). At the initial wearing, 34% of the observation group occurred corneal epithelial injury, but they all recovered by stop wearing and appropriate medication. With the prolong of wear time, the proportion of injury reduced.@*Conclusion@#Uncorrected visual acuity of mild and moderate myopia children wearing OK lens can significantly improve at 1 day, then is basically stable after 1 year, but declines within 2 years, which indicates the need for timely replacement of the lens.Long-term wearing is effective and safe to control the development of myopia.

ABSTRACT

A case of primary pharynx synovial sarcoma was reported in this paper. A 15-year-old male patient experienced painless pharyngeal swelling that gradually proliferated for 1 month. Special examination showed an 8 cm × 4 cm × 3 cm tumor located in the left pharynx and the supratonsillar crypt. Imaging tests revealed an irregular mass on the left side of the oropharynx and an unclear boundary. Immunohistochemical examination yielded the following results: epithelial membrane antigen (+), cytokeratin (CK)19 (+), CD7(+), vimentin (+), CK10(-), E-cadherin (+), B-cell lymphoma-2 (-), CD2 (-), CD10 (-), CD138 (+), CD99 (+), leukocyte common antigen (+), and Ki-67 (20%+). This condition was pathologically diagnosed as primary pharynx synovial sarcoma.
